4/28/2024 0 Comments Alternative to fuze card![]() ![]() That’s 4 major retailers (all with brick/mortar stores and on-lines sales abilities) that used to distribute Sansa products. I think someone would be much wiser to buy a Fuze than the $99 slotradio itself and I wish Radio Shack stocked those. are you telling us there is SPAM pre-loaded on these cards too?įor completing a survey about my shopping experience, Radio Shack gave me a coupon worth $10 off on $40 purchase so I suppose my next slotradio card will be quite cheap.Įven if it were the other way around RS gave me $30 meaning I could buy another card for only $10, I’m still not sure that’s what I would spend it on. More slotradio information: I got to what I think was the end of the first playlist and a voice announced something like “Slotradio, 1000 songs on a tiny card.” Message Edited by NYCasphaltSurfr on 06-10-2009 09:49 PM Sandisk really needs to work on their slotRadio online store and the customer service department that currently deals with online slotRadio ordering issues as they are definitely not up to standard. I received a duplicate order via UPS which required numerous phone calls to Sansa Store Customer Service which seems to currently reside somewhere in India. One final note: I initially had an online ordering glitch and attempted to cancel my slotRadio order online which yielded no reponse. My only current complaint is that there is no way to easily get to the EQ settings from within the slotRadio navigation while a song is playing. I really hope that Sandisk continues to create more slotRadio cards! Also, it would be super cool if you could use slotRadio cards in the Sansa Clip players! My Brother was asking me about slotRadio on the phone last night and we both realized that I can simply give him one of our cards to try out in his Fuze!Īnyway, I was so impressed with my initial slotRadio purchase that I purchased the “Rock” slotRadio card which I haven’t had a chance to listen to as of yet. Also, I’ve already heard some great songs that I really like that I probably would have never downloaded and/or purchased had they not been pre-loaded on the slotRadio card. You can play your own songs and then switch to slotRadio whenever you like. The cool thing about using the Fuze to play the slotRadio cards is that you have the best of both worlds. My Wife and I both have 8Gb Fuze players and I purchased a couple of the 80’s & 90’s cards for both of us out of curiosity. I have very specific music tastes, but I also currently travel a lot for work and don’t currently have a lot of time to sift through music to load my fuze with fresh material. We have three Fuze users in the family, so this purchase is a slam-dunk. ![]() I think a lot of the music is selected well not just popular stuff but selected with headphone users in mind, for example. I’m going to wear out the battery really fast because I have to read the screen a lot, and look at the screen art, which always reverts to that small size instead of staying put. The player remembers where I am in each cut as I switch playlists, I am thinking there’s no way to rewind and if there are 1000/7=143 songs per playlist you really won’t skip all the way around to listen to that missed cut again. UP is Pause, as usual DOWN is skip instead of a menu LEFT & RIGHT switch playlists instead of accessing prior and next cuts. What seems odd about the card is the control’s functions have been reassigned. There are 7 playlists on my rock card and when I powered up it refreshed in less than half a minute. I am pleased with that thing because it lets me care for the card I removed to put this in, as well as an extra. Not mentioned anywhere is that the card comes with a microSD cardholder which holds two cards. I wish I had been able to buy it online and beat the sales tax, but at least I have the card in hand now.
